Quality, Honesty, and Integrity
In 1969, Bruce and Jim Horner started a small plumbing company. The brothers had a vision to provide excellent workmanship and customer satisfaction in their local community. Back then, Bruce and Jim worked out of their home and dispatched plumbers from the kitchen table.
Now, Bruce’s sons Chris and Patrick carry on the legacy with their mother, Colleen, as the owner. While the company has grown, the family business has stayed true to the same values of taking care of the customer—with quality, honesty, and integrity.
You learn a lot over 50 years, like how to adapt to changing times and improve while staying competitive. How many great plumbers helped to repair a leaky shower head or build a high-rise in southern Wisconsin. Every time we finish a project, we remember how far we’ve come from our humble beginnings and look forward to continuing to provide service with the Horner difference.

Horner Plumbing Through the Years
Brothers Bruce and Jim Horner started a small plumbing company out of their home in Milwaukee’s south side. They provided high quality service, after learning the ropes at their uncle Don Horner’s Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling business.
Moving to Loomis
Horner Plumbing opened its first office with showroom on Loomis Road in Milwaukee where clients could see faucets and fixtures. The company expanded 4 times in this space, because of Bruce and Jim’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Bruce Horner became sole owner of Horner Plumbing. As a master plumber and civil engineer, Bruce’s career took off when he got more involved in the local building community and associations. Horner Plumbing expanded to new home construction and would eventually do plumbing in hundreds of new homes each year.
Chris Gets Onboard
Chris Horner joined the company as an apprentice. Bruce and Colleen’s first son grew through the ranks of the company through hard work and cutting his teeth in the field before helping to run operations in the office.
Colleen Horner became President, after Bruce’s passing. With the family company built on a strong foundation of quality work and treating everyone as family from top to bottom, the women-owned business continued to grow.
Horner Plumbing expanded into its current location in lake country with a large 2-story showroom that is open to the public as well as trade professionals. Colleen’s vision included a boutique home remodeling company with a professional design team that provides the best products and services.
All In The Family
Patrick Horner joined Colleen and company as construction manager to supervise and direct the high-end home remodeling services, named Colleen Horner Design Studio. Chris Horner continued to manage operations of the residential plumbing side of Horner Plumbing.
Horner Plumbing has grown to providing commercial plumbing services. With the expertise to offer residential and commercial services, the women-owned family company stays true to the original ways of doing business that Bruce and Jim honored when they started a small plumbing business over 50 years ago.
